The last two days have been spent indoors at SANAE IV since the weather hasn’t been too great for doing work outside. You can have a look at the latest weather forecast for SANAE IV here (or have a look at the picture below).
When the wind picks up visibility generally decreases quite rapidly and everything looks white outside (more so than usual) due to snow picked up by the high winds. This is accompanied by a significant drop in temperature (the wind chill factor) making field work difficult and highly unlikely.

To make the most of the day the team tidied up the geo store (our store room) and got the emergency kit and all other gear ready for their next field work day. Hopefully the weather clears a bit by tomorrow!
