A few more fieldwork pictures

The team is currently on the S.A. Agulhas II sailing on the Southern Ocean. For more on their first night at sea click here. But before they departed SANAE IV for the ice shelf (by CAT train nog al) they were able to visit Grunehogna again with the members of Antarctic Microbial Ecology. While GwynnethKarin and Sunet collected samples for their work, IanJennaTebogo and Nicola were able to document more periglacial landforms and to verify that the logger was working properly. The weather was beautiful and they were even able to see Lillequisthorga in the distance! Here are a few pictures of their visit to Grunehogna.

Back at  SANAE IV everyone managed to fit in one last visit to Crystal Palace (it is nearby to where the team conducted their hazardous terrain traversal training), a simply magical place!
